About Me

Linda lives in Sunset Beach, North Carolina. A lifelong love of art and design has shaped both her career and creative life. Linda’s earliest memory of making art is drawing her cat on the living room floor while her mom gave piano lessons. The first painting she did came from a TV Guide drawing contest: an elf, painted one Christmas with the help of her Aunt Donna, a wonderful landscape painter.

Those creative instincts carried her into a career in custom carpet for the hospitality and casino market as a partner with Crossley Axminster.  There she works alongside carpet designers, interior designers, architects, and developers. Throughout the years, she kept exploring different creative paths.  Anything from painting, making jewelry to cake decorating which allowed her to express herself creatively she dove into.

Linda had been painting since her twenties, but took her first painting class at the age of 59. She studied under Elie Zeidan of Elie Studio in Cornelius, North Carolina, and currently with Rachel Sunnel at Sunset River Gallery in Calabash, NC. Being a part of painting or art class is something she intends to continue as she is always learning something new, and the friendships and sense of community have brought her real joy.

Today painting is her passion. The style she leans towards is realism, and draws inspiration from imagery that touches her.  Whether it is a small child at play, a vivid travel memory, a photograph, if it speaks to her, she wants to pick up her brush. Seeing the way light reflects and glistens, dew drops and raindrops, beautiful buildings, and lately coastal birds and sunsets over the ocean, are just a few things that inspire her.

She is drawn to bold, expressive color and uses it to energize a composition and heighten emotion. Through her work, she hopes to honor memory, feeling, and a shared experience. Her hope is that each painting invites you to pause, feel, and connect, whether through a familiar moment or the joy of seeing the world more vividly.

If something here speaks to you, She would be glad to hear from you.
